Chore Charts

We haven't done chore charts with the girls yet, so I thought I'd give it a try. Especially since I am going crazy cleaning up after my little piggies. So this is what I came up with.

They will get points(flowers) for what they do. Some will be worth one flower and some things may be worth two flowers. When they get 20 flowers in the green boxes they will get something. I haven't figured out what yet. Maybe just a quarter. I really hate rewarding with candy. How does everyone else to chores and what do they get for it?
I have been talking about doing points with the girls for a while, but I just got around to making the charts today. So I think they are excited about them. So we'll see what happens.
I made something similar for Ashlyn peeing in the potty. When she got 10 kitties Erik would take her to the pet store.
(I love my Cricut. It's so awesome. If anyone ever wants to Cricut with me come on over. I love making cards. I have started some scrapbook pages, but I prefer cards.)

I just re-introduced chores. I am lame and wrote chore names on craft sticks, my kids draw 1 each day. They argue over the toilet - who knew? Not my fav thing to clean. It is amazing how much more housework you can get done with a little help. I pay my boys a quarter for their chores and Gabi get 50 cents (the boys don't know this) - she does a fairly decent job. Your chart is totally cute. I have been out of the crafty loop for a while. I might need to see your machine in action.
By the way - loved the closets! Way to go.

The craft stick idea is cute. I still need to think of a way to have them do different things to earn the flowers on their chart. What chores do you have your boys do? They are the same ages as my girls. Do you have a set time each day that chores are done?

I tried letting the boys vaccum - mistake. Garrett let it eat the cord - not good. So they are down to taking out trash, windexing things, collecting dirty laundry, folding laundry, matching socks, picking up the toys, dinner helper, simple things like that. I do let them clean the toilet cause they love it. Weird. Gabi does a great job, Garrett does an OK job and Wyatt thinks he is helping. I figure we are starting a habit that will hopefully last forever. We do our chores in the afternoon for the most part. Then the house is clean when Rob comes home & Tessa is napping so that gives me time to help. Usually we spend about 15-20 minutes on chores. Just enough time to get a job done but not enough for them to hate it.

Hi Austin,
Your charts are so cute! I still haven't gotten around to completing mine, pretty bad huh? I did start them the other day though, so maybe they'll get done this week. We do need to get together, the park, making cards, organinzing my house...any of the above. You seem to do great work!
