So I made cookies tonight and as I was adding the first couple ingredients Dacia says "are you making cookies with love?"
When I put the first batch in the oven Ashlyn wanted to see so I turned on the light and she says "mom, the cookies are growing"
I love my girls.
Applesauce Cookies (Yummy)
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 cups applesauce
2 t soda
1 t cinnamon
1 t nutmeg
1 t cloves
1 t salt
4 cups flour
1 pkg chocolate chips
Bake at 425 for 8-10 minutes
Make 6 dozen
I like to freeze them and take them out dozen at a time. If I didn't, I would probably eat them all in a couple days.

I have learned that ANYTHING you make is delicious! I love your recipes in the ward cookbook and the one from the christmas cookie swap we had that one time. I made the molasses bars this last christmas. We need to do that swap again this year. I am deathly afraid of divinity cause I have flopped it numerous times (try 8 or more)maybe this year you can help me. I'll have to try out these cookies. Jen
I am for sure not a divinity expert. I have had a few attempts that failed. I love it though and like to make it each year so I can share some with Chris.
Have you ever tried my Sour Cream cookies in the recipe book. That is what I make whenever I have to do sugar cookies. They are yummy too.
I love the cookie swaps. I was a little disappointed with this last one. Everyone brought cookies. I like it when you have candy too. But I do admit I didn't do anything fancy either. Heck, I had a 2 week old at home, so that's my excuse.
