Food overhaul

A few months ago I decided that we needed to change the way we were eating.  I had been reading a few blogs online about cutting out processed foods and dived right in to making the necessary changes.  The PA I work with tells everyone if the want to lose weight and be healthy they should cut out white flour and sugar..so that's where we started.  Let me tell you hard hard it is because sugar is in everything.  I started reading labels and couldn't believe the junk that is in our food.  So I really try to choose foods with the best ingredients.  We also added more vegetables and fruits to our meals.  By making some changes we actually end up eating more vegetarian meals. I thought it would be hard..but I really don't miss meat on the days I don't have any.  I drink more water and I don't miss my Dr Pepper.  For the first time in my adult life I am taking vitamins regularly..I know..I sucked at taking prenatals.  I found there are things that I never really like before but they are actually pretty good now..like avocados.  Yum!  I found that we eat out less and when we do go out I try to make better food choices.  It's a process and some weeks definitely go better than others.  The point is I keep trying and help my family be healthy and encourage my girls to make the right food choices.
Tonight for dinner was Quinoa with veggies..mmm colorful and yummy.
